Joe’s Beerhouse

When you are in town, don’t forget about Joe’s! Joe’s Beerhouse is a little gem based in the heart of Windhoek, which prides itself as the get-together location for locals and tourists. Creating a heartwarming community vibe. Joe’s Menu offers a wide variety ranging from Game meat, like kudu to crocodile fillets.

Specials: On Mondays, they have a “Money Saving” special on a few menu items and on Tuesdays, they have their Pizza Special.

Events: Don’t miss out on the events they offer like the Weekly Drumming Circle, Car Boot Sales and any other reason like St Patrick’s Day, you can expect to celebrate at Joe’s Beerhouse!

Christuskirche

This church is Windhoek’s most beautiful and recognised landmark. It is an unusual building that was constructed with local sandstone and Italian Carrara marble. It is the oldest Evangelical Lutheran church in Namibia. It is easy to find and central to other tourist attractions.

National Museum of Namibia

This is a historical and zoological museum based in Windhoek’s oldest surviving building from the 1890s. Providing information about the struggles of the country, rock art displays, indigenous artefacts and some reproductions. Outside of the museum, you will find railway engines from the country’s first trains. It is worth a visit and, best of all, offers free entry!

Daan Viljoen Nature Reserve

This Nature Reserve is a sanctuary for a large population of game species and is just 24km from Windhoek. You can go to the reserve for a quick afternoon visit or make it a tour spanning a few days to enjoy it thoroughly. The lodges and sanctuaries in the area offer trail walks for hiking and a variety of game drives. You are guaranteed to spot some native wildlife, like giraffes, wildebeests, monkeys and turtles, to name a few.
