And last but not least our personal favourite :

Coco Safar: This cafe is the epitome of coffee and bakery culture in the Mother City. Their croissants are recognized by the prestigious American magazine “Food&Wine” as one of the best in the world, along with croissants from Paris, Tokyo and Melbourne. Coco Safar can boast unique fillings and flavours for their pastries.

Be sure to try:

  • Croissant de Nata: a combination of two iconic French and Portuguese products. The classic butter croissant and Paste de Nata, a bowl-shaped dessert made from puff pastry filled with custard.
  • Croissant with caramel and mint. This dessert pays tribute to the first mint pie from Orley Whip, created in South Africa. It combines a caramel-mint croissant top with the most delicate cream filling. Sounds delicious, doesn’t it?
  • Tiramisu croissant. Inspired by the beloved Italian treat, it’s drenched in mascarpone and coffee – flavoured custard, topped with whipped cream and dusted with cocoa powder. Once you’ve tried it, there is no way back. If you are on the dark (savoury) side, order a cheese stick topped with rooibos mustard. The combination is a match made in heaven.
