Afternoon

After a successful day out in Simon’s town you can take a stroll to the Jubilee Square, which is right in the heart of Simon’s Town, to soak in all the local culture whilst watching the sunset. Local events, festivals and markets are usually arranged here.

In the centre of the square, you will see the remembrance statue of Just Nuisance, a Great Dane. He was the only dog to be enlisted in the Royal Navy after becoming very popular with the sailors as he followed them to the naval base and dockyards. He would lie on the decks of the ships that were boarded and obstruct the sailors trying to board and disembark, he was then named Nuisance.
